"Interracial half-siblings come together for the first time and embark on a cross-country road trip to confront their absentee father before he dies." -From the Publisher

"Original and sobering, Adelina is an antihero of nigh-unremitting darkness: an unusual young woman in the mold and such archetypes as Lucifer, Macbeth, and Darth Vader." -Kirkus Reviews

  • "Adelina Amouteru's heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers who nearly killed her. But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?" -From the Publisher

New in the Paperback Section!

The library has some new books in the paperback section of the library.  Stop by before the long weekend to check out something to read!

Stand Off by Andrew Smith
(Sequel to Winger)

"Smith has created a consistently interesting character whose singular sense of humor grows on readers.  Plus, he nails the rough-and-tumble sport of rugby.  This sequel won't disappoint fans." -Booklist

Hold Me Closer: The Tiny Cooper Story by David Levithan

(A Companion book to Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan)

"Tiny will have readers falling out of their chairs laughing." -Kirkus

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen

"Saint Anything is a poignant, honest story about how we might suffer the misfortune of someone else's bad choices, how people who love us can become family when we desperately need it, and how starting over might - miraculously - mean taking a solid leap forward.  Is there anyone who can write about what matters most to teens as well as Dessen can?  I sincerely doubt it." -Jodi Picoult, New York Times bestselling novelist of Leaving Time and My Sister's Keeper

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

"Nimona...is beautifully flawed and refreshingly unstereotypical in a book that is both darkly witty and surprisingly touching.  And Nimona is a protagonist to both love and fear." -The Horn Book

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Fall Break

Culmination week is almost over.  Don't forget to borrow a book to read over the break!

Here are a few of the new books in the paperback section:

If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan

“Sharp and moving . . . An interesting look at gender identity and gay culture in Iran . . . Also a compelling story about class and the purpose of marriage.” --The Boston Globe

The Clockwork Dagger by Beth Cato

“This rousing tale... keeps itself grounded with a story as disarming and forthright as its appealingly capable heroine. ...Ample action and a delectably delayed romance propel the story toward a riveting finale, marking Cato as an author to watch.” --Publishers Weekly

The Boy Who Drew Monsters
 by Keith Donohue

"[A] chilling Christmastime horror yarn… Like a child’s attention, the book may seem to wander in its final third before ultimately revealing itself to have been horribly on point all along."—Entertainment Weekly

Come to the Reference Room to see some of our other new books in the paperback section.

As always, don't hesitate to request a new book to read!  Think about requesting a book for the winter break.
